RUSSIA // CHEREPOVETS

This is Cherepovets! Those are not nuclear weapons exploding in the horizon, but massive smoke columns from the factories that saturate this Russian city, one of the most polluted in the world.....and there was me thinking Godalming's smog was bad. The name of the city which is located near the Sheksna River basically means city of skulls and looking at the sky, it's a fairly suitable name.

  1. Cherepovets was a filming location for a movie called Gruz 200. It seems like the most depressing place in the world.

Will definitely need to check it out. Yes, the back drop of Cherepovets does like pretty depressing.
