ILLUSTRATOR // CLARE MALLISON

I have a little treat for you on this fine British Wednesday, an illustrator by the name of Clare Mallison. I was first drawn to the attention of Clare's work a few years ago and always loved it's effortless ease at creating interest and closer study of what could possibly be conceived as everyday objects or scenarios and I reckon illustration as an art form probably dates back to when our ancestors were graffiting and tagging cave walls to impress Wilma and Betty.

Clare has drawn all her life and went on to study illustration at Kingston University graduating in 2004. Whilst completing her course she discovered a passion for drawing whilst on location which enables her to really get a feel of whats in front of her. Using a mixture of pen, ink, pencil and marker pens from her studio in East London, Clare has an ever increasing list of prestigious clients ranging from Marie Claire and Rolling Stone to The Guardian and The Times.

Clare's website is well worth checking out so don't be surprised if you end up clicking through her whole back catalogue and if you're interested in seeing more of her work then definitely subscribe to her blog which is updated on a regular basis. Below are some of my favourites, enjoy...

You can also visit Claire's shop to pick up your very own reasonably priced print....I did and it's now all framed up and waiting for some wall space to live on.
