Hello everyone, meet Boo. Basically, he is a completely round piece of fluffy fur and therefore pretty cool. Now I wouldn't say he's a proper man's dog but he does look pretty macho in his TopGun outfit. Boo has now got a ridiculous amount of people following him on Facebook so his astute owner J.H Lee has sorted him out with a book deal! The yellowdog HQ has been in a very old-school disco house sort of mood this last week. Must be linked to trying to keep our mind of the torrid weather and keep upbeat. I was listening to the radio as one does and up popped the fabulous Gwen McCrae who's tune has to be considered a classic. But then hearing Ramsey HERCULES <-- He has Hercules in his name, already a winner in my book!

WATCH // ZIIIRO

Evening all. I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday fuelled by booze and whatever else takes your fancy. Mine involved lots of driving, eating and Red Stripe ...ahhh. I haven't posted an actual product for awhile and my unusual addiction to watches (which has seen my personal collection expand to about 20) led me to search about the internet for something different. Moments later I find ZIIIRO, a company I've never heard of before but really feel that as an enthusiast I should have! Their watches have little or no face markings and definitely no hands but a constantly changing pattern of rings that indict the time. Minimalism is key to their design and since making an impact on the market early last year their range has grown to an impressive 19 and the best thing about ZIIIRO is that they are actually affordable!.....so go get one!

This song just feels so right for today, although I am not at Carnival I am living it up all on my lonesome in my room, imagining what it would be like to be there. Hopefully this can inspire some other people to get up and move.

If not. It is still a great tune.

Dr. Who dat? Wicked track by? Well that was an previous alias used by Mr Jneiro Jarel. Not heard any of his stuff before, but absolutely loving this and felt he was worthy of a blog. Although having him as tune of the day may feel rather mediocre to him; having worked with the master MF Doom, Massive Attack and the feel good TV on the Radio.

Will look forward to checking out more from this guy.

This man is a genius and this song is definitely perfect for summer tune. After spending a night on a rooftop in Fulham last night, you just realise how good house music is and how perfectly it accompanies a night of heavy drinking with ones friends.

Alex, I look forward to many more of your releases.

Beautiful little cover of Bon Ivor's, Woods song from the smooth vocal chords of Andy Allo which includes a tidy remix by Monkey Robot. Allo was born and raised in Cameroon and now spends most of her time in Sacramento, California writing and performing with her band. In a relatively short space of time her creativity, passion and overall chemistry have made industry ears twitch, recently performing with Prince on stage for an Amy Winehouse tribute Allo will definitely be one to listen out for.

An old tune that I came across whilst stumbling around in my vintage Last FM account. So pleased I decided to do that, as it has now opened a whole realm of tunes that are sublime. This is awesome.

Unfortunately I couldn't find an official video, but what better than some vintage Godzilla.

Great tune that I found when sifting through some of Chris Coco's genius Melodica web casts. A top quality Summer time tune that should make you forget that the sun aint shining much. The video was made by Deep88 who I believe to be unconnected to Italo82 but just fancied making a video using the tune....correct me if I'm wrong though and then provide me with the literature.

EVENT // STAYCATION 2011

What a day that was, the sun was out shining (at times) the cool-box was filled to the brim with all sorts of alcoholic beverages, which all managed to enter my belly. This is some wonky camera work by our own resident blogger Alex, however the music just sums up how great an event it actually was.

Big-up to the boycom boys for their splendid set, just wish it could have been 3 hours longer.

STAYCATION

The free music event featuring a whole host of locally based bands and artists who are lending their services at no charge, takes place at Godalming bandstand.

There are a series of diverse artists that will be gracing the bandstand; these include ska, reggae, hip hop, acoustic and folk.

TUNE OF THE DAY // Chris Rea - On The Beach (Todd Terje Balearic Remix)

It may have well been 23 years since the original Chris Rea - On The Beach was released Todd would have only been a little nipper. But wow, this is an absolutely fantastic record and for those who have never heard of Rea or Terje i am 100% certain you will fall in love with this song.
